Waldringfield History Group
There is an entry on Waldringfield in the Domesday Book and a set of Rivershall and Hilton Manorial Court Rolls at Suffolk Record Office from which we have translated extracts. We have a collection of maps and archeological surveys have been made of some buildings. The English Heritage Survey covers the river bank. We aim to gather information on all Aspects of Village Life . We will also try to make a record for posterity of what's happened in the village and have started an oral history collection. We have an extensive collection of photographs more are always welcomed.
This group has been set up to investigate the local history of the area covering most aspects from very early times to the modern day. Members are following up their own paricular interests from geological, archeological and industrial, to social and family history.
The Waldringfield History Group's main aim is to bring together all we know of the village and its people. Please feel free to send us any information, documents or photos that can add to the collection.
If you are interested in being involved please contact : Bob Crawley
