The Deben Estuary is beautiful and its banks relatively unspoilt by development. Waldringfield is the only riverside settlement of any size between Felixstowe Ferry and Woodbridge. It is small, well-confined and reasonably unobtrusive when viewed from the river.
The Maybush Inn was originally a farmhouse and dates from around the 15th century. The property was probably licensed around 1745. It is one of the members of the Deben Inns chain and part of the Adnams Brewery.
