Waldringfield Flood Defence Group

In the late hours of Thursday 5th to Friday 6th December 2013, the largest tidal surge in sixty years hit the east coast, causing mass destruction and evacuation.  Waterfront properties at Waldringfield, on the banks of the River Deben, were amongst those devastated by the flood waters which exceeded the height of the Great Flood of 1953.

Waldringfield Flood Defence Group (WFDG) was formalised on 1st May 2014.
